Golf Day Outreach, spreading the word of mental health illness

Golf Day Outreach Project,

Gold day Outreach, spreading the word of mental health illnesses. Promoting Awareness & Reaching out to the community.

We attended this Golf Day on 8 September 2017 to spread the word about the alarming rate at which mental health problems is growing in South Africa.

People are scared to admit that they have mental health problems because it sounds like you are crazy, but this could not be further from the truth. Mental Illness can be anything from anxiety, depression and basic limitation blocks that people have developed due to past circumstances.

We are all human and how bodies can only handle a certain amount of stress. When our stress levels are too high for too long, physical, emotional and mental side effects start to take place.

It does not help pretending that every thing is fine all the time. Life happens and it is important to realize that when times are or get tough, reaching out is one of the best decisions you will ever make in your entire life!

People have been programmed to only care about themselves and their closest loved one’s (family and dearest friends), but it is time to step out of our comfort zones and bring empathy back into this world. That is why this Gold day Outreach, spreading the word of mental health illnesses was so important to us.

We had some great discussions with a variety of business people and we thank every single person that donated towards this cause. We were able to raise R3000 which is going towards helping people currently in the care of I am not a mistake foundation to pay for their rehabilitation after having being abused by their caregivers.

Lets break the stigma of mental health and develop a healthy society once again!
